DISEASE MANAGEMENT PURCHASING
CONSORTIUM TO ADD 100TH MEMBER

WELLESLEY, MA, USA -- HEALTHCARE UPDATE NEWS SERVICE(TM) -- AUGUST 1, 2006: The Disease Management Purchasing Consortium International, Inc. (DMPC) is poised to add its 100th member during August. DMPC will be the first organization of any kind, vendor or consultancy, to reach that plateau.

DMPC is offering a special package to whoever becomes the 100th member - half price on all services. In exchange, the 100th member must be willing to participate in a press release and possibly interviews.

DMPC traces its roots to February 1996, when it conceived and brokered the first-ever disease management outsource, between Humana and CORSolutions. Consistently it has added an average of ten members a year since then, bringing it to this milestone. Current members include most large health plans, many smaller ones, twelve states, fifteen large employers (including IBM, Procter & Gamble, and the three largest state retirement systems), and the French National Health Authority.

Since 1996, DMPC has received near-universal recognition as the "most influential organization in the field" (to quote Dr. John Bodenheimer, writing in the British Medical Journal), with an unbroken annual streak as the largest procurer of disease management programs for the payor community. In the last twelve months alone, DMPC has advised the three largest-ever single contract awards (Georgia Medicaid, Illinois Medicaid, and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield) as well as many smaller ones.
