(ISC)2 Members Receive Opportunity for CPEs with CSCS™ Program Regulatory Compliance & Information Security is Focus of New Job Role Based Program,
Certified Security Compliance Specialist™ (CSCS™)

DES MOINES, IA, USA -- HIT/HIPAA UPDATE NEWS SERVICE(™) -- OCTOBER 2, 2006: ecfirst.com Academy's Certified Security Compliance Specialist™ (CSCS™) is a unique program of its type in the compliance and information security industries. This is a job-role based program that is ideal for practitioners - much like (ISC)2 CISSPs - looking to acquire specialized knowledge in the area of regulatory compliance and information security.

Organizations are fast moving to a digital ecosystem that is governed by strict regulatory compliance requirements. The CSCS™ program is laser-beam focused on thoroughly examining compliance requirements and establishing best practices that can be applied in securing today's business information infrastructure.

"CISSPs will find the program to add significant depth to their knowledge of compliance security requirements that directly impact many industries," said ecfirst.com CEO Uday Ali Pabrai, CISSP, CSCS.

"This program is yet another great opportunity for our members to expand their knowledge in security and privacy legislation, which is critical to corporate and international infrastructures, while gaining Continuing Professional Education credits to maintain their credential(s)," said Claude L. Williams, CISSP, Head of Business Development, (ISC)2 Americas.

Covered topics include Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), ISO's 17799:2005, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), California legislations, Canada's PIPEDA, Japan's PIP, as well as federal security certification and accreditation requirements. Emphasis is also placed on the "availability" principal with learning objectives established for business continuity planning and disaster recovery.

As (ISC)2 CISSPs participate in this two-day instructor-led program and pass the online exam, they are then responsible to document their time and activity as eligible for Continuing Professional Education (CPE). The new CSCS™ program offers eligibility for 16 CPE Type A credits for CISSPs and SSCPs.
