2019 Innovation Summit and Capitol Caucus

The CMS Innovation Center has made strategic investments in population health, with an emphasis on chronic disease prevention and whole-person care. Dr Alley will provide an overview of the Innovation Center's population health portfolio, highlighting partnerships with providers and community-based organizations designed to improve quality and reduce costs.

About the speaker:
Dawn Alley joined CMMI in June 2014, first as a Senior Advisor then as Deputy Director and finally serving as the Director for both the State Innovation Group and Prevention and Population Health Group. Prior to joining CMMI, Dawn served as Senior Advisor in the Office of the Surgeon General, where she oversaw implementation of the National Prevention Strategy. She has extensive expertise in population health and aging, with more than 40 publications in journals including JAMA, Archives of Internal Medicine, and American Journal of Epidemiology. Dawn holds a Ph.D in Gerontology from the University of Southern California and received post-doctoral training in population health through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health and Society Scholars program at the University of Pennsylvania.
