WASHINGTON DC USA -- HEALTHCARE UPDATE NEWS SERVICE™ -- JANUARY 1, 2009: The Fourth National Medicaid Congress, www.MedicaidCongress.com, May 31 - June 2, 2009 , in Washington, DC announced today a Call for Presentation Proposals. Last year's Congress successfully drew together over 450 attendees, including national media, legislators, industry executives and patient representatives.

The Fourth National Medicaid Congress promises to be the most important one of all, with a new Administration poised for change but also faced with serious challenges. At a time when there is real potential for a fresh look at Medicaid policies and reforms, the new Obama Administration will have to wrestle with a staggering Federal budget deficit and soaring Medicaid costs. More than ever, the country needs ideas that work, and the National Medicaid Congress will highlight the best models and the best new thinking from the field as well as from Washington.

  • expanding and maintaining access
  • reducing costs
  • improving care management and quality
  • harnessing the power of information technology
  • integrating Mediaid and other programs
  • protecting vulnerable populations
  • experimenting with incentives and disincentives
  • advancng the concept of the Medical Home
  • putting proven research into action.
