WASHINGTON, DC USA -- HEALTHCARE UPDATE NEWS SERVICE™ -- AUGUST 31, 2018: The Alliance for Health Policy is pleased to announce that HHS Deputy Secretary Eric D. Hargan will be our keynote speaker at our Annual Dinner to be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Eastern Market in Washington D.C.
Eric D. Hargan was sworn into office as Deputy Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services on October 6, 2017. Previously Mr. Hargan was an attorney, most recently a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig's Chicago office in the Health and FDA Business department, where he focused his practice on transactions, healthcare regulations and government relations.
We look forward to seeing you at the dinner this October.
SHARE YOUR #HEALTHPOLICYJOURNEY WITH US!
The Alliance is seeking stories in the form of written and photo submissions for our #HealthPolicyJourney social media campaign. We want to kick off our October dinner and celebrate our community by sharing stories about the friendships/connections and ongoing achievements made by individuals in health policy.
If you would like to participate, you can:
(1) Submit a maximum of 100 words reflecting on your health policy career. Feel free to highlight key moments in your career path, mention important mentors or colleagues, or describe your overall professional pursuit in health policy; or
(2) Share a picture of you from early moments in your health policy career (example: photograph of you at your first job!).

THE 2018 ALLIANCE ANNUAL DINNER AWARDS RECOGNIZES COMMITTED CITIZENS, POLICYMAKERS, MEDIA MEMBERS, AND LEADERS WHO WORK TOWARD SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE HEALTH AND HEALTH CARE THROUGH OPEN, HONEST DIALOGUE.
Bipartisan Health Policy Leadership Award
This award is an opportunity to acknowledge and pay thanks to thought leaders who have worked tirelessly to deliver the facts and inform bipartisan health policy solutions.
Bipartisan Congressional Staff Award
This award will be given to two Congressional staffers who have worked in a bipartisan manner to improve the U.S health system. This work is often behind-the-scenes and under-acknowledged yet crucial to impacting health for all Americans.
Unsung Hero Award
This award will acknowledge and pay thanks to exceptional individuals who have supported the institutions that make health policy. We applaud the tireless commitment of these unsung heroes to diligently supporting generations of lawmakers and their staff in a nonpartisan manner.
