AI has the potential to improve the quality and lower the costs of health care, but often requires access to vast quantities of medical information to do so. This webinar will explore how health care privacy laws such as HIPAA apply to the development and use of AI by both covered entities and business associates, including issues such as whether the development of AI potentially qualifies as "research" and how the prohibition on the "sale" of protected health information applies to transactions involving AI development and health data.
