Overview: As the complexity of healthcare continues to increase, managing organizational risk requires support, guidance, and governance oversight from Boards of Directors and/or Trustees. Non-profit and for-profit healthcare organizations encounter similar issues pertaining to healthcare quality, safety, and population health. These issues impact hospitals, physician groups, health plans, and employers, including healthcare technology, medical device, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology companies. Led by Byron Scott, MD, MBA, a physician leader and board director with over 30 years of relevant experience in this area, this session will explore current trends and issues from the perspectives of executives and board members from some of today's leading healthcare companies. This 4-hour preconference session is designed for Boards of Directors and Trustees, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Medical Officers, Chief Quality Officers, and Board Secretaries involved in governance education. Existing and future members of boards, private equity, and venture capital firms involved in healthcare are invited to attend.
