WASHINGTON DC USA -- HEALTHCARE UPDATE NEWS SERVICE -- APRIL 24, 2026: Medicare and Medicaid payment reductions beginning in 2027 will increase financial pressure on hospitals and health systems. As government reimbursement declines, providers will rely more heavily on revenue from commercial health plans, placing greater focus on improving reimbursement processes, enhancing commercial payer contracts, and securing full payment from private insurers.
In this webinar, John Barnes and Leslie Murphy will discuss how providers can strengthen financial performance by understanding existing commercial payer contract terms and how they can impact the revenue cycle, preparing strategies for upcoming contract renewals, and increasing revenue cycle recoveries. The session will focus on practical legal approaches to securing reimbursement under current agreements, including enforcing payment provisions, addressing payer denials and underpayments, and identifying contract terms that affect the scope and timing of reimbursement. Attendees will gain practical guidance on steps providers can take now to protect expected payments and strengthen their position in disputes and negotiations with commercial insurers.
