DURHAM NC USA -- HEALTHCARE UPDATE NEWS SERVICE™ -- SEPTEMBER 3, 2026: As 2027 approaches, accountable care is entering a new phase of evolution. While the model has largely proven more effective than traditional fee-for-service payment, there is less agreement on what comes next. Join us next month for an event that will explore progress in accountable care to-date and opportunities to leverage evidence to accelerate accountable care.

Accountable care is now a permanent part of the Medicare landscape, yet its future impact will depend on policymakers' ability to modernize the data, technology, and payment infrastructure that supports it. The next phase may be defined not by voluntary expansion, but by the permanent adoption of evidence-based approaches that can be rapidly tested, refined, and scaled across the health care system.

A free networking reception will follow this event. For more opportunities to meet with your peers and discuss this important topic, we invite you to join us in-person in DC. Register below:

This event is part of the West Health Accelerator at Duke-Margolis, a collaborative initiative to strengthen Medicare accountable care, improve care for older adults, advance brain health, and integrate transformative therapies into care.

A recording of this meeting will be uploaded to the event webpage about three to five business days after the event has concluded. Contact margolisevents@duke.edu with inquiries regarding this meeting.
