Dear Colleagues,

Some of the most valuable moments at a conference don't necessarily happen from the stage. They happen when a panel discussion continues into the hallway. When a question from the audience sparks a conversation with someone facing the same challenge. When you reconnect with a longtime colleague—or meet someone new whose perspective changes the way you think about an issue.

Those conversations are one of the reasons I look forward to the Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Ethics & Compliance Congress, taking place October 13-16 in Washington, DC.

Our profession is navigating tremendous change and having a community where we can talk openly about those challenges matters. Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, evolving enforcement priorities, increasingly complex business models, and expanding expectations of the compliance function are creating questions that few organizations can answer alone. None of us has a definitive playbook for every new challenge, and if someone claims they do, that's probably a conversation worth having as well.

The Congress brings together compliance professionals from across the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, along with government officials, legal experts, and other thought leaders. The formal program provides an extraordinary opportunity to learn, but equally important is the exchange that happens when we come together as a community—asking questions, comparing approaches, sharing experiences, and learning from one another.

For 27 years, the Congress has provided a trusted forum for these exchanges. As our profession continues to evolve, I believe the opportunity to connect with peers, strengthen relationships, and learn from one another is more important than ever.

If you've been considering attending this year's Congress, I hope you'll join us. Come for the education but also make time for the conversations—in the sessions, between sessions, and with colleagues from across our profession.

Sometimes one conversation is all it takes to solve a challenge you've been wrestling with or at least convince you that everyone else is wrestling with it too.
