SAN DIEGO, CA USA -- HEALTHCARE UPDATE NEWS SERVICE™ -- SEPTEMBER 1, 2026: CMS's ACCESS Model went live in July 2026, bringing outcome-aligned payment for technology-supported chronic care into Original Medicare for the next ten years. For ACOs, the most consequential detail is one of timing: ACCESS expenditures stay outside Medicare Shared Savings Program and ACO REACH benchmark and performance year calculations through 2027, and are included beginning in 2028.
