- Possible TROA Markup Coming This Summer

- House Republicans Blast CMMI's CGT, ACE Demoshare
Top House Energy & Commerce Republicans blasted two key CMS Innovation Center drug pricing demos -- the cell and gene therapy (CGT) model aimed at reducing state Medicaid costs, and the accelerating clinical evidence (ACE) model aimed at limiting CMS coverage of drugs granted accelerated FDA approval -- arguing these initiatives would deter the shift to value-based agreements.

The full House Ways & Means Committee is considering marking up a long-debated bill that would require CMS to temporarily cover FDA-designated breakthrough devices under Medicare's Durable Medical Equipment fee schedule, according to lobbyists and a congressional advisory reviewed by Inside Health Policy. The advisory does not include a possible date for the markup of the bipartisan bill, which is strongly backed by industry and lobbyists say is garnering additional Democratic support.
